There are very few bands that divide a nation quite like Nickelback does. Canadians seem to either love or loathe the band, with very little resting in between. If you are on the LOVE side, then it is probably not news to you that Chad and the crew are heading to London this weekend! If you are in the LOATHE side, you might want to read on to find out where to avoid!

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend! Spread a little love throughout the city when you are out doing some of these fun things!

London Golf Show and Sale

If you or your Valentine love to golf, this would be a great daytime outing! From 10-6pm Saturday and 10-5pm Sunday at the Western Fair District. Admission is free for children 4 and under, $5 for children 5-10, and $8 for everyone 11 and up.

Jersey Boys

Don’t miss this Broadway show, right here in London! Jersey Boys is taking over the Budweiser Gardens with shows on Friday at 8:00pm, Saturday at 2:00pm and 8:00pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Bud Gardens box office. Dinner packages are available if you’d like to make it a date night!

Community CPR Day

What better way to spend the weekend of hearts, than by learning to restart a heart? The City of London Aquatic Services Department is hosting two days of CPR certification clinics. Register for your 2.5 hour class for only $5! Must be at least 10 years old. Locations vary around the city.

Really Chilly Road Race

The Really Chilly Road Race is happening this Sunday, beginning at the Western Fair District. Register TODAY for the 10K, 5K, 1 mile or kiddy trot. Dress warmly and have fun! If you’re not into running, come to cheer on the runners and stay for the winterfest fun. There will be lots of winter activities and food!

The Next Step Live on Stage

There won’t be any hockey or basketball happening at Bud Gardens this weekend because Disney on Ice is taking over! If you weren’t lucky enough to get in on the discounted presale, then you still have time to buy tickets online or at the box office for most of the shows. Imagination Station Museum London

Have you been to Museum London lately? On Sundays, it is the place to be! Imagination Station is their FREE drop-in program for families from 1:00 to 3:45pm. Explore the museum and be inspired to create your own artwork in the Clare Bice Creative Studio.

The Eyes of Heaven

The Eyes of Heaven is coming to the main stage at the Palace Theatre in Old East Village Cultural District. This is the tale of a mother and teen daughter who have lost their way, and how they are fighting their way back to loving each other. There are two games happening at the Budweiser Gardens this weekend. Friday night, the Knights drop the puck at 7:30pm against the Sarnia Sting. Come back on Sunday, January 25 for a London Lightning game against the Brampton A’s at 2:00pm.

Boler Mountain

The weather is perfect to get outside with the kids and get in the snow! The trails, lifts, and tube park are all scheduled to be open this weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bundle up the kids and head over to the Bump for some family winter fun.

White Oaks Mall

In need of a little retail therapy? Retail stores are looking to clear out their winter stock and get ready for spring, which means sale time for you! White Oaks Mall has a number of sales beginning this week. Have a look!

It’s finally here! The holidays are upon us, the kids are out of school and it’s time to kick back and relax! Time for family, friends, and good cheer.


The Middlesex-London Competitive Skating Association is holding a fundraiser this Saturday, December 20 beginning at 6:30pm. Come to meet the stars of Frozen, watch a Frozen-inspired skating performance, do a little shopping at the vendors, bid on the silent auction items, go for a skate, and so much more! Budweiser Gardens is holding it’s annual Open House Skate and Toy Drive this Sunday, December 21 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Come to the Bud with your toy or cash donations and enjoy skating on the big ice where the professionals skate! All cash and toy donations will go to the London Children’s Aid Society. Children under 12 must wear a helmet.

Canada’s Ballet Jorgen is performing the classic Christmas tale of The Nutcracker this Sunday, December 21 at Centennial Hall. This is a rare opportunity to see these celebrated dancers right on our own city!


The Canadian Celtic Choir is performing their Christmas concert at the Aeolian Hall this Saturday, December 20 at both 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 or at the door for $30.


Shrek The Musical is still on stage at the Grand Theatre. The show has received such high praise that it’s been extended through the New Year to January 3. Tickets are still available in the balcony for this weekend’s performances. Don’t be afraid of sitting in the balcony – they are still great seats and you’ll be able to see everything perfectly! The shows happen Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 1:00pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm. Enjoy the show!

Hunter Hayes at Budweiser Gardens


Get ready for the giddy excitement, London, because Hunter Hayes is coming to town this weekend with his Tattoo (Your Name) Tour at the Budweiser Gardens. Hunter Hayes is a young, American, country sensation with 4 Grammy nominations and two hit CD’s to date. His first CD sold well over a million copies and attracted world wide attention with the single Wanted. His latest CD, released in May of this year, is rocking the charts, led by the hit song Invisible. Did you know that this talented artist can play over 30 instruments? If you’re not overwhelmed with Christmas parties, shopping, and decking the halls, then here is a few options to have some fun this weekend in our beautiful city,


Storybook Gardens skate trail opens this Saturday, as long as the weather continues to cooperate! Skating is from 10:00am to 8:00pm Saturday and 10:00am to 5:00pm Sunday. Admission is $4.25 for adults, $3.25 for children, or $13.00 for a family (2 adults, 2 children).


The Amabile Da Copa Choir and Junior Amabile Singers will definitely get you into the holiday spirit with their performance of Storytellers this Saturday, December 6, at 6:00pm at St. James Presbyterian Church.


If your kids can’t wait until the big day to sneak a peek at the big guy, have their photo taken in support of the London Defeat Depression Campaign this Saturday, December 6 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at La Noisette Bakery on Oxford Street East. Country star Dirks Bentley is coming to the Budweiser Gardens this Saturday night. Randy Houser and Tim Hicks are opening; the show starts at 7:30pm. There are a few rare tickets still floating around for sale, so if you are interested act fast!


The Eldon House is opening their doors for a festive tea and tour of the house during their Victorian Christmas Celebration. There will be two sittings this Sunday at 1:30pm and 3:00pm.  Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children. To register call 519-661-5169.

London is going to be a busy place this weekend! Get the kids in the van and get out there!


Friday, November 28 in Victoria Park there will be the annual Lighting of the Lights ceremony to mark the beginning of the Christmas season in the downtown core. Events run from 6:15 to 7:00pm.


This Saturday, November 29 beginning at 10:00am behind Sherwood Forest Mall. Bring canned good donations for the elves to collect and dress warmly!


The legendary movie turned Broadway sensation will hit the McManus Stage at the Grand Theatre from November 25 to December 6. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the Grand Theatre box office or online HERE.

Jingle Bell Walk & Run for Arthritis

The Arthritis Society is hosting a fun Walk & Run to support the over 4.6 million Canadians living with arthritis. They raise money for research, education and services. The event is being held this Saturday, November 15 at Springbank Park. Registration opens at 8am. There will be a 2K, 5K, and 10K option, open to all.

Firebirds Festive Bazaar

If you’re going to be in southwest London this Saturday, November 15, stop in at ARTHUR FORD PUBLIC SCHOOL from 9:00am to 4:00p, for their bazaar featuring handcrafted items, baked goods, and independent company consultants.
