SUNFEST

Running from today, July 9 until this Sunday, July 12 in Victoria Park, Sunfest is a celebration of world music, dance, art, and cuisine. The festival is free to the public and is family friendly.

THE ABBA SHOW

The ABBAsolutely fABBAulous show is coming to Centennial Hall this Friday, July 10 at 8:00pm. Tickets are available through the Centennial Hall box office. Enjoy the live music, dancing, and costumes of the real ABBA experience.

VICTORIAN TEDDY BEAR PICNIC

Bring your favourite bear to Fanshawe Pioneer Village for a delightful day of songs, games, puppets, and snacks with your bears. Don’t forget your picnic basket! Admission is $7.

LONDON MAJORS BASEBALL

The historic Labatt Park has another home game this weekend when the London Majors take on Guelph this Friday night at 7:35pm. Tickets are available at the gates or online.

 

 

 

The ABBA Show

Who isn’t a fan of ABBA’s classic music? The ABBA Show is coming to London direct from Australia this weekend. For one night only, you can see the ABBAsolutely fABBAulous acclaimed impersonators perform an ABBA show like no other. This will be a full concert with replica costumes, a live band, lighting and effects, and of course dancing!

The show will be at Centennial Hall on Friday, July 10 at 8:00pm

Tickets are $62 plus applicable fees for adults; $32 plus applicable fees for children 13 and under.

It’s the long weekend! Once upon a time, May 2-4 meant something entirely different than it does once you have kids. ;) So, your plans now may involve a lot more gardening than tanning on a beach, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun! Here is what is happening around town:

LONDON MAJORS

The London Majors are back in action at Labatt Memorial Park. Take your kids out to the ballpark and have some fun this Friday, May 15 for the Home Opener. The game begins at 7:35pm against the Hamilton Cardinals. Tickets are only $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students.

STORYBOOK GARDENS

Storybook is open for the spring/summer season as of this Saturday, May 16! All amusement park rides are open and the park will be open daily for play. For hours and admission, see here.

FANSHAWE PIONEER VILLAGE

Fanshawe Pioneer Village opens for the season this weekend for it’s 56th season. It will be open Saturday from 10:00am to 4:30pm, admission is $7. Have a little historical fun this weekend!

PLAY ON! 4 ON 4 HOCKEY

Victoria Park and it’s surrounding streets will be host to the Play On! 4 on 4 hockey tournament this Saturday and Sunday. Registration is closed for the event, but spectators are welcome! Come cheer on your friends or see if you can spot the next hometown hero in action.

TOONIE SWIM

The May schedule for City of London Aquatics Toonie Swims is out and one is this weekend! Friday, May 15 from 7:15 until 9:00pm at the South London Community Pool. Admission is only $2.00 per person.

Pre-Teen Much Music Video Dance Party

Centennial Hall is hosting a Much Music Video Dance Party for all kids in grades 6 to 8 this Friday, May 15 from 7:00 to 11:00pm. Admission is $12 per student, photo ID is required (photo copy of health card or passport).

BOLER MOUNTAIN

Did you know that Boler is more than just a ski hill? Their Tree Top Adventure Park and Mountain Bike Trails are now open for the spring season. Reservations are recommended for the Tree Top Adventures and can be done online: http://www.bolermountain.com/treetop/

SPRAY PADS

The City of London Spray Pads (excluding Storybook Gardens) will be functional as of this Saturday morning at 9am!

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend! Spread a little love throughout the city when you are out doing some of these fun things!

London Golf Show and Sale

If you or your Valentine love to golf, this would be a great daytime outing! From 10-6pm Saturday and 10-5pm Sunday at the Western Fair District. Admission is free for children 4 and under, $5 for children 5-10, and $8 for everyone 11 and up.

Jersey Boys

Don’t miss this Broadway show, right here in London! Jersey Boys is taking over the Budweiser Gardens with shows on Friday at 8:00pm, Saturday at 2:00pm and 8:00pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Bud Gardens box office. Dinner packages are available if you’d like to make it a date night!

Community CPR Day

What better way to spend the weekend of hearts, than by learning to restart a heart? The City of London Aquatic Services Department is hosting two days of CPR certification clinics. Register for your 2.5 hour class for only $5! Must be at least 10 years old. Locations vary around the city.

Really Chilly Road Race

The Really Chilly Road Race is happening this Sunday, beginning at the Western Fair District. Register TODAY for the 10K, 5K, 1 mile or kiddy trot. Dress warmly and have fun! If you’re not into running, come to cheer on the runners and stay for the winterfest fun. There will be lots of winter activities and food!

The Next Step Live on Stage

If you were lucky enough to get tickets, The Next Step will be at Centennial Hall this Sunday for two sold out shows! The Family Channel’s dance show will be performing hits from the show, solos and group numbers, as well as

Beat the January Blahs by getting out of your house and doing something fun this weekend! The weather is looking good for some outdoor adventures, but if you spent your PA Day playing in your backyard, try something on this list:

Budweiser Gardens

The Knights are playing two games this weekend, Friday at 7:30pm against the Windsor Spitfires and Saturday at 7:00pm against the Sarnia Sting. The London Lightening Basketball team takes the court on Sunday at 4:00pm against the Mississauga Power.

London Winter Bridal Show

Getting married? BFF engaged? Just really like weddings? Then head down to the London Convention Centre for London’s biggest bridal showcase. There will be over 100 exhibitors to help plan the big event. The event happens Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Admission is $12.

London Psychic Expo

This weekend is the London Psychic Expo at Centennial Hall, but you probably already knew that. The event opens at noon on Friday for private readings, lectures, demonstrations and more. Private readings range depending on the type and length, but average about $40. Friday noon to 9:00pm, Saturday 11:00am to 9:00pm, Sunday 11:00am to 7:00pm. Click HERE for $2 off admission.

London Children’s Museum

The London Children’s Museum will be FROZEN this weekend as Anna, Elsa, and Olaf pay a visit to sing and interact with children at 1:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am on Sunday. Stick around for lots of fun with snow and ice, doing crafts, experimenting and having a great time.

London Wine & Food Show

The weekend begins early with the 10th annual London Wine & Food Show which opens tonight at 5:00pm. There will be tastings, samples, demonstrations, entertainment, educational segments, and of course a great time. This is a 19+ event open Thursday 5:00pm to 10:30pm, Friday 5:00pm to 10:30pm, and Saturday 12noon to 10:30pm. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Whether you’re still feeling the holiday cheer or you would like to pack it in and move on, here are some ideas to keep you busy this weekend:

BUDWEISER GARDENS

London Lightning basketball is happening at the Budweiser Gardens this Saturday, December 27. They’re playing the Brampton A’s, tip off is at 7:00pm. Sunday afternoon, the London Knights take on the Windsor Spitfires at 2:00pm.

WILD KRATTS LIVE!

Wild Kratts, Live! are coming to the Centennial Hall this Saturday, December 27. The show is at 1:00pm.

SHREK, THE MUSICAL

Shrek is still running at the Grand Theatre! There are performances this weekend on Saturday at 1:00pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm. Pack up the family and get your Ogre on.

SKATING

Tim Hortons free skates are happening at Earl Nichols, Stronach, Argyle, and Oakridge Arena’s this weekend. For dates and times, see HERE. For other arena times, see HERE.

LONDON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

The Museum is open and full of fun for the kids. Mad Science, Kwanzaa, Fizzing Candy Canes and more! The doors are open between 10:00am and 5:00pm both Saturday and Sunday.

BOLER MOUNTAIN

Boler is open for skiing and snowboarding with a special Boxing Day sale! $25 for an all-day ticket until December 29th. The weather may feel a bit like spring, but the mountain has snow, so grab your skis (or rent from them!).

Wild Kratts, LIVE! at Centennial Hall

If you have an animal or adventure lover in your family, then you probably already know about the Wild Kratts. Chris and Martin Kratt are real life brothers from the shows Kratts’ Creatures and Zoboomafoo. In the show Wild Kratts, the brothers have created animated versions of themselves to go on wild adventures of action and mystery with different animals. The show teaches viewers about rare and interesting animals, their habitats and other interesting bits about their homelands.

The award winning live performances by the Kratt brothers are not to be missed! Full of action and adventure, the animated show comes to life when the Kratt brothers activate Creature Power Suits to conquer a villain and rescue a helpless animal friend.
