Winter fun has arrived at Storybook SNOWYBOOK Gardens! The next two weekends are packed with holiday fun for the whole family.

The Castle is open from 10am to 8pm on Saturdays and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

Admission is $4.25/adult, $3.25/child (2-17yo), $13/family (2 adults, 2 children) and children under 24 months are free.

Here is the scoop on what will be happening:

SKATING

The skate trail is open and ready for your whole family to glide around the park. Say hello to the farm animals as you skate past and challenge your memory for all of the nursery rhymes and stories you see along the way. Skates are available in a variety of sizes, both hockey and figure skates, for $6/pair. Skating aids are available on a first come, first serve basis or bring your own! All children 5 and under must wear a CSA approved helmet. Strollers (other than umbrella strollers) may be allowed at the discretion of Storybook staff. For all of the skating fine print, see HERE.

SANTA CLAUS

Saturday and Sunday, December 13/14, 20/21 from 10am to 12noon, visit with Santa and Mrs Claus at Storybook Gardens!

SNOWYBOOK FUN

Also happening on Saturday and Sunday, December 13/14, 20/21 from 10am until 5pm are holiday crafts like Snow Goo in the Elves workshop and roasting marshmallows over a festive campfire. All activities are free with admission to the park.

This is it, there’s no avoiding it now! December is here, the countdowns have been cracked open, and the stores are packed: it is officially the Christmas season. Every year, thousands of children hop up on the lap of jolly ol’ St. Nick and either smile happily or burst into horrified tears. Whether the pictures are beautiful or Santa looks like he’s had better days, they are something that will make you smile for years to come. If you don’t have the luxury of attending an office party or a family event where the big man will be visiting for free, you’ll probably have to line up with the masses and pay for that magic (or tragic) memory. Have no fear, the malls are ready for you. Here is where you’ll be able to find Santa over the next 24 days:

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees is on now at the Covent Garden Market, downtown. This annual event, brought here by The Lung Association of Ontario, is perfect for people of all ages and is a fantastic place to take the children. Come and enjoy the decorated Christmas trees and holiday decorations, get something to eat, catch up with Santa Claus and just enjoy this charming introduction to the holidays. Admission is free!

The Lambeth Village Co-Op Preschool is running a Ladies Night TONIGHT, Thursday, November 20 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at the Lambeth Legion. Tickets are $15 each or $25 if you bring a friend!

Budweiser Gardens

The boys are playing again this weekend at the Bud! Check out the Knights Friday night at 7:30pm against the Mississauga Steelheads and the Lightning Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm against the Windsor Express.

Matthews Hall Holly & Ivy

Visit Matthews Hall on Friday, November 21 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, November 22 from 9:00am to 6:00pm for a holiday shopping event of unique gifts and crafts. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children.

Winterfest Holiday Shopping

The second annual Winterfest Holiday Shopping event at South London Community Centre is this Saturday, November 22 from 3:00 to 8:00pm. There will be over 70 vendors with all proceeds going to the London Food Bank.

Shrek The Musical at the Grand Theatre

Shrek opened this week at the Grand Theatre. Catch the show Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 1:00pm and 7:30pm, or Sunday at 1:00pm.

 

And good news! Boler Mountain isn’t open yet, but it’s been so cold that they’ve started making snow! Shine up your ski’s and get ready to hit the slopes soon.
