St. Patrick’s Day

May the luck of the Irish be with you today! It’s St. Patrick’s Day, which means it is our day to either pretend we are Irish or pretend we are MORE Irish than we actually are… In other words, it’s Green Day! There are a number of easy and fun ways that you can celebrate the day with your children, do don’t panic if you’ve forgotten to plan ahead. Just toss on something green and read on.

Rainbows and the colour green are the theme of the day, so start by making a rainbow that you can wear. Cut narrow strips of paper in every colour of the rainbow (or use white paper and colour it yourself). Have a little fun with colour order and patterning as you make a paper chain necklace with your strips. Finish your chain by making a pot of gold or a shamrock as a pendant. Kids not into wearing necklaces? Use the chain to decorate something: their dinner chair, the window, the bathroom mirror or the fireplace mantle.

March Break 2015

The March Break is finally here! For the vast majority of children and teens, the countdown probably began the first week in January, so let’s make it worth the wait. If you’re leaving our fine city for somewhere warm – enjoy yourself! If you’re sticking around London and your kids aren’t signed up for camps (if you’re scrambling, here is our list), here are some of the highlights of what is going on:

Fleetway is ready to celebrate the March Break all week with bowling from 9:00am to 6:00pm (extended to 2:00am on Friday), the rock wall from 11:00am to 8:00pm (extended to 11:30pm on Friday), and all day fun with glow-golf, billiards, and the Pladium Lite games room.

Westmount has daily fun for the family with the VOCPRI Charity Used Book Sale daily, Salthaven Wildlife Presentations on March 16, 17, and 20th, and The Fossil Guy on March 18 and 19. See the link for times and more information.
