March Break 2015

marchbreak

The March Break is finally here! For the vast majority of children and teens, the countdown probably began the first week in January, so let’s make it worth the wait. If you’re leaving our fine city for somewhere warm – enjoy yourself! If you’re sticking around London and your kids aren’t signed up for camps (if you’re scrambling, here is our list), here are some of the highlights of what is going on:

FLEETWAY

Fleetway is ready to celebrate the March Break all week with bowling from 9:00am to 6:00pm (extended to 2:00am on Friday), the rock wall from 11:00am to 8:00pm (extended to 11:30pm on Friday), and all day fun with glow-golf, billiards, and the Pladium Lite games room.

WESTMOUNT SHOPPING CENTRE

Westmount has daily fun for the family with the VOCPRI Charity Used Book Sale daily, Salthaven Wildlife Presentations on March 16, 17, and 20th, and The Fossil Guy on March 18 and 19. See the link for times and more information.

This Weekend in London

January

This weekend is going to be lovely! Need something to do? Here are some ideas:

The Grand Theatre

The 2015 theatre season is kicking off with The Ladies Foursome. This charming and funny play explores the friendships, loves, and lives of a foursome of friends after one of them passes away. Great for a night out with your girlfriends, your sister, your mom or any other woman in your life. For tickets and show information, see HERE.

Budweiser Gardens

There are two games happening at the Budweiser Gardens this weekend. Friday night, the Knights drop the puck at 7:30pm against the Sarnia Sting. Come back on Sunday, January 25 for a London Lightning game against the Brampton A’s at 2:00pm.

Boler Mountain

The weather is perfect to get outside with the kids and get in the snow! The trails, lifts, and tube park are all scheduled to be open this weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bundle up the kids and head over to the Bump for some family winter fun.

White Oaks Mall

In need of a little retail therapy? Retail stores are looking to clear out their winter stock and get ready for spring, which means sale time for you! White Oaks Mall has a number of sales beginning this week. Have a look!

PA Day Fun for January 16

PA DAY

This Friday is a PA Day for both the TVDSB and the LDCSB. If you are looking for activities to keep your children busy, here are a few things happening in London:

WHITE OAKS MALL

Mascot Mania is happening at White Oaks Mall from 12noon until 2:00pm this Friday. Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Jake the Neverland Pirate, Tinkerbell, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Darth Vadar will be hanging out taking pictures and signing autographs at three separate locations throughout the mall.  Parents should visit the Information booth and fill out a ballot to win a private party with your favourite character courtesy of Magical Princess Parties.

LONDON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

Pre-registration is required for the PA Day camp at the London Children’s Museum this Friday. The camp runs from 8:30am to 5:30am. This Friday’s theme is Boggling Optical Illusions! Let your kids challenge and trick their eyes through optical illusion activities and create their own optical illusion artwork. Programs are designed for children 3-12 years old. To register, call 519-434-5726.

SKATING

If you’re looking for a free activity to burn off some of that crazy energy kids seem to accumulate through the day, head downtown to the Covent Garden Market from 8:00am to 7:00pm or to Victoria Park from 10:00am to 10:00pm with your skates!

MUSEUM LONDON

Museum London is also hosting a day camp from 8:30am to 4:30pm. If you have an aspiring artist in your family, this is the place for them to be! After learning about the history of Nature London and viewing unusual specimens, participants will make armatures upon which to build abstract figures or animals. They will also construct 3D animals out of sheets of corrugated cardboard. Register online HERE.
