Ever consider becoming a true Soccer Mom? Not just one who drags their kids to fields around town, but one who actually does the playing themselves! Soccer is quickly becoming one of the most popular activities for moms. It’s great exercise, it gets you out of the house, you can meet new people, make new friends, and have a lot of fun doing it. Whether you have a few friends you can join with or you’re going to take the plunge on your own, here are the leagues you can choose from. For most, registration is happening RIGHT NOW, so choose quickly and get in the game!
Women’s Rec League plays 7v7 on WEDNESDAYS throughout the summer. You will be playing 2 x 40min halves on an indoor field.
Women’s Masters League plays 10v10 on SUNDAYS throughout the summer. You will be playing 2 x 40min halves on an indoor field.
Adult Coed League plays 6v6 on TUESDAYS throughout the summer. You will be playing 2 x 25min halves on an indoor field.
The Over 18+ Women’s House League team plays on FRIDAY NIGHTS from May to August with one practice weekly. The games will be held on the East Lions or Ted Early fields. Practices will depend on the team coach.
The London United Rec Soccer league is for women 25+ on Tuesday and Friday nights. The games are held at the London United Soccer Club fields at Highbury Ave. and Oxford St. The season begins in mid-May.
Sistas in Soccer is a rec league for women 21+. You will be playing on either Friday evening for 60min games or Sunday afternoon for 90min games. Field locations are across the city. Registration opens February 1.
Kensal Park is for women 19+. They have a Progressive Rec League for experienced players that plays on Sunday nights and a Recreational League for non-competitive play that play on either Sunday or Friday.
For each league, you will be responsible for your own cleats and possibly your own socks, shin pads, shorts and other accessories. Most leagues provide a team shirt with registration. Have fun and be safe!
